Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Tech to support nursing teams under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role encompasses basic care tasks, vital signs, and patient assistance with daily living activities in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with clinical experience, and BLS certification. Phlebotomy experience is preferred; background checks are conducted in accordance with policy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CNA / CMA / EMT or nursing student w/ one semester of clinical.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming and eating.
• Reports abnormal findings to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Demonstrates flexibility and multi-tasking in stressful situations.
