Job summary

Virtua Health in Camden, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support daily living activities and care planning under the direction of a Registered Nurse or LPN. You will assist patients and families, communicate with the healthcare team, and uphold professional ethics.

The role involves vital signs, phlebotomy/EKG when certified, patient education, and contributing to patient satisfaction and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge of basic patient care skills and standards.
• Strong communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Supports activities of daily living and plan of care under RN/LPN direction.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, hygiene, mobility and transport.
• Perform vital signs, documentation, phlebotomy and EKGs where certified.
• Communicate changes in patient status to RN/LPN and respond appropriately.
• Reinforce education for patients and families and participate in QI initiatives.
• Assist in orientation of new hires.
