Job summary

Virtua Health in New Jersey seeks a Med Surg / Tele Transplant Unit assistant to help with activities of daily living and plan of care under RN/LPN supervision. You will perform vital signs, basic tests, and documentation while supporting patient education and family communication.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of a PCT course or CNA program, and BLS. Phlebotomy training may be needed for ED positions; benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Must have basic patient care skills, procedures and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and plan of care.
• Take vital signs, point of care testing, bladder scanning, and Foley catheter care; document changes; may perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Reinforce education of patient and family/responsible party.
• Participate in Virtua patient satisfaction initiatives and goals.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.
• Assist in orientation of new hires.
