Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Tech for the Float Pool, part-time nights. You will support nursing teams with routine patient care duties in a fast-paced hospital setting, under supervision of RNs and physicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited CNA program or nursing student who has completed one clinical rotation with written verification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical/patient care duties under the direction of the RN or physician.
• Obtains 12-lead EKGs and transports specimens as assigned.
• Discontinues Saline Locks, indwelling urinary catheters and telemetry packs.
• Provides assistance with patient hygiene, mobility and daily living activities.
• Responds to patient call lights and requests for assistance promptly.
• Maintains a safe, clean care environment and supports patient/family education.
