Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Part-time Nights Patient Care Tech for the West Region Float Resource Team. The role involves covering multiple units and hospitals, providing essential patient care under RN supervision, and supporting mobility, hygiene, nutrition, and comfort needs.

The position emphasizes teamwork, adaptability, and strong communication. A nursing student or CNA/CMA/EMT with clinical exposure is preferred, and CPR certification is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Nursing students who have completed one clinical rotation are eligible.
• Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or EMT credentials or relevant clinical experience are preferred.
• CPR – Basic Life Support is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities under RN supervision, including vital signs and glucose checks.
• Assists patients with daily living activities and personal care.
• Receives and responds to call lights and communicates with staff and families.
• Maintains unit equipment and helps with patient transfers and mobility.
• Performs pre-admission census and daily census validation as needed.
