Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is currently hiring a Part-Time Night Patient Care Technician (Float) for Kishwaukee Hospital and Valley West Hospital. Under RN supervision, you will perform basic patient care tasks, monitor vital signs, and assist with daily living activities while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

The role emphasizes teamwork, effective communication, and the ability to manage unit workflow during busy shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Nursing students who have completed one clinical rotation, or CNA or CMA or EMT.
• CPR – Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
• Assists patients with personal care and activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating).
• Reports abnormal findings to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Demonstrates flexibility, organization, and multitasking under stress.
