Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Nursing Float Pool. This full-time day shift role involves 72 hours per pay period, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with alternating weekends and holidays.

Under RN supervision, the PCT performs basic patient care tasks, monitors vital signs, and assists with activities of daily living. Sitter duties may be involved, and candidate must meet required certifications and education.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• CNA, CMA, EMT, or nursing students with one semester of clinical completed are acceptable.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) must be current.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care activities under RN supervision, including monitoring vital signs and glucose checks.
• Assists with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Reports changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Maintains clean and orderly patient rooms and supports unit workflow.
