Northwestern Medicine is hiring a Patient Care Technician-Stepdown Hp5 for day shift. The role is full-time, 72 hours per pay period, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with alternating weekends and holidays in Illinois.

Under RN supervision, you will perform basic patient care, monitor vitals, assist with daily living activities, and coordinate with nursing staff to ensure quality care. A CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with clinical experience is required along with BLS certification.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA/ CMA/ EMT or nursing student with clinical completed required.
• BLS certification required.

Mansioni

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming and eating.
• Reports abnormal findings to nursing staff.
• Maintains clean and orderly patient rooms.
• Demonstrates flexibility, organization, and multi-tasking under stress.
• Prioritizes unit work as needs change with critical thinking.
• Acts as liaison between patient care units and other departments.
• Answers calls and communicates information to staff/family/patient.
• Manages unit workflow with the charge RN/assistant manager as needed.
• Performs pre-census and validates admissions/discharges/census lists when required.

Formazione

High School Diploma or equivalent

Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or nursing school students with one semester of clinical completed

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
