Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician for General Medicine 13W in Chicago. This full-time role (36 hrs/wk, 0.9 FTE) supports direct patient care, including vital signs, specimen collection, and post-visit activities, under RN supervision.

Qualified candidates will have CNA certification or current enrollment in nursing school, CPR/BLS, and a high school diploma with preferred nursing coursework. A strong commitment to patient-first care is essential.

Qualifications

• CNA certification or enrollment in nursing school required.
• CPR/BLS certification or recognition by American Heart Association required.
• Minimum 90% on mandatory Health and Safety Training quizzes.
• One year of college or nursing education or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Monitor vital signs and measurements for adults and neonates.
• Perform phlebotomy, glucose checks, and basic nursing tasks as directed by RN.
• Transport patients and equipment; prepare rooms for MD/RN assessments.
• Respond to patient call bells and emergencies promptly; maintain patient safety.
• Participate in daily tasks, supplies management, and quality improvement activities.
