Job summary

Virtua Health in Voorhees, NJ is seeking a part-time Patient Care Technician to assist with daily living activities under RN/LPN direction and to support the healthcare team, patients and families with high professional ethics. The role is on-site with a day shift and 18 total weekly hours.

Responsibilities include bathing, dressing, mobility, vital signs and documentation; phlebotomy/EKG duties if certified. Requires BLS, high school diploma or GED, and PCT/CNA/RN basics training.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates required knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, mobility.
• May perform vital signs, point-of-care testing, bladder scanning and Foley care; phlebotomy/EKG if certified.
• Identifies and communicates changes in patient status to RN/LPN and responds appropriately.
• Reinforces education for patient and family on care needs and safety.
• Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement; assists in onboarding of new hires.
