Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Part-time Patient Care Tech in Lake Forest, IL. The role supports the clinical team by performing essential patient care tasks under RN/physician supervision.

Responsibilities include specimen handling, EKGs, catheter management, monitoring, and assisting with hygiene, mobility and data documentation per care plan. Required CNA training and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited CNA program with IL CNA Registry listing.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Collect, label and transport specimens as assigned.
• Obtain 12‑lead EKGs.
• Discontinue Saline Locks and Indwelling Urinary Catheters.
• Discontinue Telemetry Monitoring packs.
• Perform bladder scan and point-of-care testing as appropriate.
• Assist with personal hygiene and nutrition per care plan.
• Provide hourly rounding in collaboration with the RN.
