Job summary

NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital at NYU Langone Health in New York, NY seeks a Part-Time Patient Care Technician on the 12th Floor for Days with 6 months hospital experience required.

You will assist nurses in patient care, perform phlebotomy, fingersticks for glucose, ECGs, and support unit safety and efficiency. A high school diploma and PCT/CNA credentials with CPR are required, with ongoing training offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a PCT program with at least 6 months hospital experience OR CNA graduate with EKG & Phlebotomy coursework and PCT cert eligible plus 6 months hospital experience.
• PCT Certification through NHA with at least 6 months hospital experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required on entry to position.

Responsibilities

• Assists in carrying out patient care tasks with focus on safety and compassion.
• Participates in data collection for unit Quality and Performance Improvement.
• Communicates with nurses and care teams to support patient needs.
• Assists with admissions, transfers and discharges as directed by nurses.
• Prepares patients for scheduled procedures and transports as needed.
• Maintains clean and safe patient environment and supplies.
