Job summary

Ascension is seeking a role in Pensacola's Observation department to provide basic clinical and non-clinical patient care under direct supervision.

You’ll assist with safe patient movement, monitor condition changes, and help maintain a clean, safe environment while supporting the nursing team. This full-time, on-site position requires BLS within 30 days and a high school diploma or GED.

• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
• Basic clinical and non-clinical patient care under supervision.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver basic clinical and non-clinical patient care under direct supervision to ensure patient comfort, safety and dignity during daily living activities.
• Aid in the safe movement, positioning and transportation of patients throughout the facility to maintain mobility and support smooth operational workflow.
• Monitor patient physical, mental and emotional status to recognize dynamic changes and report observations promptly to nursing staff.
• Maintain clean, orderly patient environments and manage medical equipment upkeep to uphold high clinical quality and safety standards.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

• Previous patient care experience in an acute care setting.
