Job summary

Ascension’s Sacred Heart Medical Clinic in Pensacola, FL seeks a Scheduling Clerk in Diagnostic Imaging to manage patient appointments during the day shift. You will coordinate with patients, participants and staff to ensure timely scheduling.

You will greet patients, register them, collect insurance and demographic data, and assist with pre-certification/authorization while guiding patients on pre-service requirements. This role emphasizes efficient patient flow and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of relevant job experience.
• Licensure/certification can substitute education/experience, if applicable.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Schedule patients for prescribed procedures by communicating with patients, participants, and staff.
• Perform patient registration, gathering and entering demographic, insurance, and clinical information into databases.
• Resolve scheduling issues by seeking resources.
• Efficiently utilize patient and clinical time when scheduling.
• Assist with pre-certification/authorization and counsel patients on pre-service requirements and instructions.

Education

What minimum requirements you’ll need

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Additional Preferences

• At least one year of experience in Medical Terminology.
• At least one year of experience in Optional Surgical scheduling.
