Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to schedule direct care providers across clinical departments and handle clerical duties with strong organization. The role supports culturally competent, patient-centered care and an inclusive work environment for a diverse patient population.

The candidate will coordinate daily staffing sheets, create per-pay-period schedules, and assist with staff development and orientation. Flexibility for shifts and disasters is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification preferred or expected.
• Minimum 1 year hospital staffing or scheduling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adequate staff is available and assist with replacement of absent personnel.
• Coordinate assignments for daily staffing sheets.
• Create per pay period staffing schedules.
• Promote professional development of the unit staff.
• Participate in the selection and orientation of new staff.
• Provide feedback to staff and clinical managers regarding staff performance issues.
• Assist with performance evaluations.
• May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and/or night shifts.
• May be required to work on religious and/or legal holidays on scheduled days/shifts.
• Will be required to work as necessary during disaster situations.
• Other duties as assigned.
