Optum is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to join our team in Manahawkin, NJ. This role supports the care team by collecting patient information, verifying insurance, handling appointments and patient communications in a fast-paced environment.

The position emphasizes accuracy, HIPAA compliance, and coordination with clinicians, with typical hours Monday–Friday and a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of experience working in medical office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records.
• Intermediate computer proficiency including MS Word, Excel and Outlook; able to use multiple web applications.

Responsibilities

• Obtain accurate and updated patient information such as name, address, and insurance information.
• Perform insurance verification on the date of service.
• Obtain patient signatures for required documents.
• Upload a valid government issued state ID and patient insurance cards.
• Answer incoming and outgoing telephone calls promptly and relay messages.
