Job summary

AEG Vision in Livonia, MI is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to manage front desk operations, support patient flow, and optimize schedules across the care team.

You will greet patients, verify insurance, enter demographics in EMR, coordinate with clinical staff, and help reduce no-show rates while delivering patient-centered service. This is a part-time, on-site role with growth opportunities and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to learn practice management systems (EMR).
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with a focus on patient-centered service.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Ability to proactively identify issues and contribute to solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to maintain patient and practice confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, customers, and vendors; serve as primary contact for patient interactions.
• Answer calls, respond to inquiries, and manage emails or digital communications promptly.
• Schedule patient appointments and support provider schedule optimization.
• Execute appointment confirmations and reminders to reduce no-show rates.
• Verify insurance eligibility and demographics; enter data in EMR.
• Communicate coverage, benefits and patient financial responsibility clearly.
• Prepare patient charts and documentation ahead of visits.
• Record charges, co-pays, and payments in EMR; manage balances and submissions.
• Run reports to ensure charges are billed and up to date.
• Monitor daily patient flow and provider schedules; adjust as needed.
• Communicate wait times and next steps to patients.
• Coordinate with clinical and optical teams for seamless care transitions.
• Support patient retention through recall and reactivation outreach.
• Maintain an organized, clean front office environment.
