Job summary

Akumin Inc. in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Patient Coordinator to greet patients, register in systems, collect payments, verify insurance, and schedule visits. You will support the clinical team and ensure accurate records while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

The role requires excellent customer service, organization, and ability to work at multiple sites. CPR certification is preferred or required prior to hire, and a valid driver’s license may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification required/pre-hire (for Mobile Radiology) or CPR certification a plus.
• Valid state driver’s license may be required.
• Ability to work at multiple locations and travel as needed.
• Strong customer service, organizational and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in person or by phone.
• Perform patient registration in various systems.
• Answer calls professionally and courteously and collect time-of-service payments if applicable.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations when needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and HIPAA-compliant documentation.
• Schedule patient appointments and assist the clinical team as needed.
