Job summary

Next Level Medical in Lake Jackson, TX seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care under Physician/Provider supervision. You will greet patients, take vital signs, and prepare exam rooms.

You will assist with procedures, perform CLIA-waived tests and specimen collection, and operate in a safe, clean environment. Familiarity with EMR and DOT/non-DOT drug screens is a plus. Weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Some medical experience.
• BCLS certification.
• Ability to work all shifts including day, night, and weekend hours as needed.
• Basic computer skills; including familiarity with electronic medical records.
• Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, escort to room and initiate registration.
• Measure vital signs and record in chart/EMR.
• Explain procedures and prepare exam room for examination.
• Assist Physician/Medical Provider with procedures.
• Maintain clean, safe environment and sterilize instruments.
• Perform diagnostic tests (eye exams, ECG, pulse oximetry, spirometry).
• Perform CLIA-waived lab tests and collect specimens for send-out.
• Perform DOT and Non-DOT urine drug screens with chain of custody.
• Remove sutures/staples and change dressings.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in education/training.
