Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Six months of recent direct patient care experience, or completion of LVHN's inexperienced technical partner course.
• Ability to follow directions and provide accurate reports.
• Maintenance of unit-specific competencies.
• Basic computer skills and reliable organization.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to designated patients using a patient/family centered approach and in accordance with established policies.
• Communicates findings, changes, or problems to the RN in a timely manner.
• Supports unit and hospital goals and objectives.
• Participates in the orientation of new staff, as assigned.
• Performs validated technical skills based on clinical specialty and unit practice.
• Utilizes technology to optimize alternative modes of care delivery.
• Completes quality control checks on designated unit equipment, if applicable.
• Conducts patient rounds, anticipates patient needs, and responds to patient call lights.
