Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a patient care teammate to provide direct patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. You will support the care delivery team and help ensure compassionate, safe service for patients and families.

Position requires a High School Diploma or GED, less than 1 year of experience in patient care, and completion of LVHN's entry-level partner course. Strong communication and teamwork are essential, with basic computer skills and BLS certification

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Less than 1 year of direct patient care experience.
• Successful completion of LVHN's inexperienced technical partner course.
• Ability to follow direction and provide accurate reports.
• Attainment and maintenance of unit-specific competencies.
• Ability to organize and prioritize assignments in the delivery of patient care.
• Basic computer skills and BLS within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to designated patients under RN supervision.
• Employs observational skills and communicates findings to the RN.
• Uses effective verbal and non-verbal communication with patients, families, staff.
• Functions as a department team member to support unit/hospital goals.
• Demonstrates team-building by participating in new staff orientation.
• Performs validated technical skills based on clinical specialty and unit practice.
• Utilizes technology to optimize care delivery.
• Completes quality checks on designated unit equipment.
