Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a patient care team member for the night shift at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hazleton. You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, perform treatments and diagnostic tasks as directed, and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.

You will support unit goals, participate in care delivery, and help ensure safety and quality in a busy hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months recent experience in direct patient care activities or successful completion of LVHN's inexperienced technical partner course.
• Ability to follow direction and provide accurate reports.
• Attainment and maintenance of unit-specific competencies.
• Ability to organize and prioritize assignments in the delivery of patient care.
• Basic computer skills.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 30 Days.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, including treatments and diagnostic studies as directed by a Registered Nurse.
• Provides other support services, dictated by patient needs, as a care delivery team member.
• Utilizes effective and appropriate communication styles with patients, significant others, visitors, staff, and professional colleagues.
• Functions as a department team member to support unit-based patient experience goals and hospital goals.
