You will verify insurance, obtain authorizations, and coordinate scheduling while collaborating with therapists and billing to keep processes efficient and patient-centered. This role emphasizes accuracy, communication, and teamwork in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of medical front office experience in outpatient therapy, orthopedic, or physician practice settings.
• Experience verifying insurance benefits and obtaining prior authorizations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and EMR systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent organizational abilities.
• Adaptable to changing priorities with a positive, patient-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and coverage limitations prior to treatment.
• Obtain and track prior authorizations, referrals, and precertifications for timely patient care.
• Communicate with insurance companies regarding authorization status and benefits questions.
• Notify patients of benefits, estimated financial responsibility, and authorization requirements.
• Monitor authorization expirations and approved visit counts to prevent interruptions in care.
• Coordinate with therapists and billing staff to ensure documentation supports authorization and reimbursement.
• Maintain thorough documentation of insurance communications in the EMR.
