Job summary

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital is seeking a compassionate, organized Patient Care Coordinator to help patients access the services they need while supporting physicians and the broader healthcare team.

In this highly visible role, you will guide patients and families throughout their care journey, coordinate appointments and surgical services, address barriers to care, and help ensure a seamless patient experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree is required (Bachelor's preferred).
• Minimum of one year in a medical/clinical office setting with patient-facing responsibilities.
• Combination of education/training and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Serve as navigator and advocate for patients and families, coordinating care with physicians, clinical staff, and community resources.
• Coordinate office visits, specialty consultations, diagnostic testing, surgical cases, hospital admissions, and pre/postoperative appointments.
• Communicate insurance requirements, potential financial responsibilities, appointment details, and preparation instructions to patients and families.
• Provide administrative support to physicians, including calendar management, meetings, calls, messages, and correspondence.
• Index and manage medical records within the EHR to support quality, service, compliance and outreach.
