Job summary

Concentra in Missouri is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to join our patient care team. You will perform routine medical testing under supervision, help with front desk duties, and ensure a friendly, efficient patient experience.

The role requires accurate vital signs, specimen collection, phlebotomy, rapid screenings, and support for clinicians in a fast-paced clinic. Training is provided, and adherence to HIPAA and safety guidelines is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Education at vocational/technical/business school level required.
• At least six months of medical assistant experience.
• Knowledge of medical procedures and terminology.
• Working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state-specific) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for physical examinations including vitals and testing.
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.).
• Assist providers during examination and treatment.
• Handle routine medical procedures and triage emergent patients.
• Prepare and assist clinician with procedures and injury care.
• Apply bandages, dressings and splints as ordered.
• Dispense medications and DME per state regulations.
• Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and testing processes.
• Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock exam rooms.
• Maintain and operate medical devices and calibrate records.
• Notify supervisor if equipment or supplies are not available.
• Assist with patient flow and wait times.
• Clerical tasks front and back office including documentation and HIPAA compliance.
• Attend staff meetings and training; maintain professional appearance.
