Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care under provider supervision. The role involves preparing patients, recording vital signs, and updating medication lists in the EHR, following approved workflows.

You will assist with exams and procedures, may serve as a scribe with extra training, and ensure timely follow-up and communication of results to patients and families.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School / GED or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program Certification.
• Accepted Medical Assistant Certification (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA).
• Preferred Associate's Degree.
• CPR – American Heart Association.
• Act 34/Act 33/Act 73 background clearances and FBI fingerprinting may be required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients within the clinical practice setting according to standardized workflows.
• Accurately obtain vital signs and document patient information and history.
• Review and update medication lists in the EHR and screen for allergies.
• Assist with examinations and procedures; may serve as a scribe with additional training.
• Provide follow-up with patients as directed and notify patients of test results in a timely manner.
