Job summary

Allegheny Health Network, part of Highmark Health, seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care coordination within a team-based clinical setting. You will prepare patients, document vitals, assist with exams, and maintain the accuracy of medication lists in the EHR.

Responsibilities include following AHN protocols, performing back‑office testing, and potential scribe duties with training. This role requires CPR and MA certification within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• High School / GED or completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Certification must be obtained within 120 days of hire if not already certified.
• Accepted Medical Assistant Certifications: NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA.
• Preferred Associate's Degree.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of the provider.
• Prepare and room patients per standardized workflows.
• Accurately obtain and document vital signs and patient information.
• Review and update medication lists in the EHR and social history.
• Pend/ cue orders for screenings, prescriptions, refills per AHN protocols.
• Perform back‑office testing and assist with examinations.
