Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Some medical experience is required.
• BCLS certification is required.
• Ability to work day, night and weekend shifts as needed.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with EMR systems.
• Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in waiting area, escort to a room, initiate registration.
• Measure vital signs and record information on chart/EMR.
• Explain treatment procedures and prepare patient and exam room.
• Assist the Physician/Medical Provider with procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment; sterilize instruments and ensure adequate supplies.
• Perform diagnostic tests including eye exams, ECG, pulse oximetry, peak flow and spirometry.
• Perform CLIA-waived lab tests and process specimens for send-out.
• Perform DOT and Non-DOT urine drug screens with proper chain of custody.
• Remove sutures/staples and change dressings.
• Adhere to safety requirements and report unsafe conditions.
• Value continuing education and participate in training programs.
• Participate in quality improvement activities.
