Job summary

NYU Langone Health seeks a Patient Care Assistant to support reception, registration, patient escort, and clinical tasks within NYS scope. You will work with EPIC, handle calls, schedule, collect demographics, and ensure HIPAA compliance while maintaining patient privacy.

The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and compassionate care for diverse patients in a fast-paced environment. This position includes administrative duties, patient flow management, and adherence to infection

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Patient Care Assistant or Medical Assistant within the last two years.
• Working knowledge of English evident in verbal, reading and writing abilities.
• Ability to multitask efficiently and thrive in a team environment with a positive patient care focus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, complete check-in/check-out, and handle registration and forms.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and route inquiries to appropriate contacts.
• Escort patients to exam rooms, prepare rooms, and maintain patient privacy per HIPAA.
• Utilize EPIC to review/update patient records and communicate with care teams.
• Stock exam/treatment rooms, sterilize equipment, and support infection control standards.
• Support patient access, front-end queues, and administrative inbasket tasks.
