Job summary

NYU Grossman School of Medicine seeks a dedicated Patient Care Assistant to support administrative and patient care duties. You will handle reception, registration, phone coverage, and patient escorting, while assisting with clinical tasks within NYS scope of practice.

Responsibilities include vitals, chart reviews, EPIC data entry, room setup, and collaboration with the clinical team to maintain efficient patient flow and safety.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Competencies: Working knowledge of English; other language an asset.
• Demonstrated ability in computer skills.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Patient Care Assistant or Medical Assistant within the last two years.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and handles check-in/check-out processes.
• Answers phones and schedules appointments.
• Assists with administrative tasks and patient flow.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare rooms for provider visits.
• Reviews and updates patient records in the EMR (EPIC).
• Assists with lab specimen collection and vital signs.
• Ensures infection control standards and patient privacy are maintained.
• Performs other duties as needed.
