Job summary

NYU Langone Health's Greenpoint site is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (FGP) to support clinical and administrative workflows. You will assist with reception, registration, and patient escorting while helping with routine clinical tasks within NYS scope of practice.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, answering phones, preparing exam rooms, updating records in the EMR, taking vital signs, and supporting quality initiatives while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient reception and check-in/check-out.
• Ability to greet patients and schedule appointments.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and HIPAA basics.
• Strong communication and translation support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and completes check-in and check-out processes as needed.
• Answers phones and schedules appointments.
• Addresses questions or routes calls/messages to appropriate contact.
• Supports efficient patient workflows by escorting patients to exam rooms and preparing rooms for provider visit.
• Validates patient medical record per FGP guidelines when accessing and/or updating information.
• Takes vital signs and records in Electronic Medical Record.
• Assists with the collection of lab specimens.
• Supports FGP access and quality initiatives.
• Performs other duties as needed.
