Job summary

UPMC Presbyterian is hiring Food Service Hosts in various formats (full-time, flex full time, part-time, and casual) to support its patient services team. Roles require availability for holidays/weekends and shifts from 5:00am to 8:30pm, with open availability.

COVID vaccination per policy is required. Responsibilities include preparing and serving meals per diet orders, maintaining HACCP-based food safety, handling equipment, and ensuring clean, compliant service areas.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, or 1 year of prior experience.
• Must comply with infection control procedures.
• Ability to work holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operate food service equipment per department procedures.
• Maintain hand hygiene and infection control at all times.
• Assemble and serve meals according to diet orders and patient needs.
• Ensure food service utensils and equipment are available before meals.
• Inventory bulk supplies and follow restocking procedures.
• Apply HACCP principles to maintain food safety and quality.
• Serve patient trays with correct patient identification.
• Sanitize assigned area per health guidelines.
