Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to front-office activities, patient flow management, and cross-team coordination. You will greet patients, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and maintain accurate EMR records while ensuring a high-quality patient experience.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting within a healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Proficient with EMR and practice management systems; able to learn new software.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and serve as primary contact for patient interactions.
• Answer calls, respond to inquiries, and manage emails professionally.
• Schedule appointments and optimize provider schedules; handle cancellations and reschedules.
• Execute appointment confirmations and reminders to reduce no-shows.
• Verify insurance eligibility and patient demographics; enter data into EMR.
• Explain coverage and patient financial responsibility to patients.
• Prepare patient charts and necessary documentation ahead of visits.
• Record charges, co-pays, and payments into EMR; manage balances.
• Run reports to ensure charges are billed and up to date.
• Monitor daily patient flow and adjust schedules as needed.
• Communicate wait times and next steps to patients.
• Coordinate with clinical and optical teams for smooth transitions.
• Support retention through follow-up, recall, and reactivation efforts.
• Maintain an organized, clean front office environment.
