Optum Lake Success Pediatrics in Lake Success, NY is seeking an Associate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team and support patient check-in, eligibility verification, scheduling, and billing processes. You will work with our care team to ensure accurate demographics, insurance data, and timely communication with clinicians.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of customer service or healthcare experience, with strong Microsoft Office skills and EPIC familiarity

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of computer proficiency experience in Microsoft Office.
• 1+ years of customer service or healthcare related experience.
• Ability to work a 37.5 flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and conduct check-in process; collect or verify demographic information.
• Load or update insurance information as needed.
• Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously.
• Confirms and schedule appointments.
• Verify eligibility and authorization and flag appointment accordingly.
• Scan insurance card(s); collect co-pays and outstanding balances.
• Post payments in the practice management system and provide receipts.
• Use the EHR to take messages and communicate with clinicians.
• Assist coworkers to ensure smooth office operation and excellent service.
