Job summary

Samaritan is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator in Moses Lake, WA. This full-time, on-site role focuses on managing referrals, authorizations, and scheduling leads to minimize delays and denials while supporting physician and medical assistant capacity.

Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, obtaining insurance authorizations, registering patients accurately, and acting as the primary contact for patients and families. CPR certification is required within three months of hire.

Qualifications

• Associates degree; experience will be considered in lieu of education.
• Minimum of one (1) year of medical office experience preferred.
• Experience in a hospital or physician office with a background in medical terminology, CPT codes or ICD- codes preferred.
• Medical terminology knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules consultation and diagnostic appointments for patients per provider order.
• Obtains insurance authorization for appointments.
• Maintains ongoing tracking and documentation on referrals to promote team awareness and patient safety.
• Ensures complete and accurate registration, including demographics and current insurance information.
• Functions as the system navigator and primary contact for patients and families.
