Job summary

Orchid Health in Blue River, Oregon, seeks a part‑time clinic receptionist to join our patient‑centered team. You will verify insurance, greet patients, collect paperwork and copays, and route communications with care and professionalism.

The role supports daily operations Monday through Thursday, 8am–Noon, with a focus on accurate intake, HIPAA compliance, and friendly patient service. Compensation is hourly with a near-term raise based on performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: 1 year medical office experience.
• English-Spanish bi-lingual preferred.
• Working knowledge of Athena EMR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for the day’s patients by verifying insurance, scrubbing for missing information, and preparing documents before we open so that the check in process is streamlined.
• Greet patients warmly and professionally as they check in for appointments.
• Collect and record patient intake paperwork and copays.
• Answer calls, schedule appointments, and address patient questions; escalate to medical staff when needed.
• Handle incoming faxes by routing to the appropriate staff and uploading to electronic health records.
• Respond to healthcare crises appropriately and involve supervisors as needed.
• Participate in community events and clinic promotional efforts.
• Present the clinic positively to community members.
• Maintain professional boundaries regarding PHI, HIPAA, and sensitive information.
• Nightly cleaning of the waiting area to keep it tidy and welcoming.
