Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator in Clyde, OH. The role focuses on front desk operations, patient flow, and coordination with the care team to deliver a high-quality patient experience.

You will greet patients, manage appointments, verify insurance, and support documentation and billing in the EMR system. A collaborative, patient-centered approach is essential to success in this position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to learn EMR and practice management systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, customers, and vendors professionally; be the primary contact for patient interactions.
• Answer calls, respond to inquiries, and manage emails promptly.
• Schedule patient appointments and support provider schedule optimization.
• Execute appointment confirmations and reminders to reduce no-shows.
• Verify insurance eligibility and patient demographics; enter data in EMR.
• Maintain understanding of insurance plans and communicate coverage and patient financial responsibility.
• Prepare patient charts and required documentation prior to visits.
• Record charges, co-pays, and payments in EMR; monitor balances and assist with claims.
• Run reports to ensure charges are billed and up to date.
• Monitor daily patient flow and adjust schedules to prevent bottlenecks.
• Communicate wait times and next steps to patients.
• Coordinate with clinical and optical teams to ensure smooth transitions.
• Support retention through recalls and annual/medically necessary appointments.
• Keep front office organized, clean, and patient-ready.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Practice Manager/Optometrist.
