Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 6 months clinical classroom.
• Preferred: graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program, EMT Basic license, or Phlebotomy certificate.

Responsibilities

• Develops empathetic, long-term relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Facilitates visit flow, informs patients of delays, reviews reasons for visit, updates medication/allergy lists.
• Communicates hand-offs to providers and entrances/reason for visit in the EHR.
• Performs MA duties under supervision: vital signs, EKGs, point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, immunizations (MA program required).
• Leads outreach for population health goals and conducts health coaching.
• Maintains medical equipment and supply stock, cleanliness, and safety standards.
• Queues prescriptions, enters orders in the EHR, documents tasks for billing.
• Schedules diagnostic and lab tests, verifies insurance, referrals, and pre-authorizations.
• Identifies OSHA issues and ensures PHI protection and patient safety.
