Responsibilities

• Contributes to patient, practice, and organizational goals through relationship development and care team coordination.
• Assists patients during visits to maintain flow and relays delays to patients and providers.
• Communicates clearly during hand-offs to providers entering the exam room.
• Performs medical assisting duties under supervision (vital signs, EKGs, POC testing, phlebotomy, vaccinations where licensed).
• Leads population health conversations and health coaching to meet quality goals.
• Monitors and maintains medical equipment and supplies, ensuring sterility and proper storage.
• Queues prescription renewals in the EHR and documents visit tasks for billing.
• Schedules tests and verifies insurance, including authorizations and referrals.
• Identifies OSHA issues and ensures PHI privacy and patient safety.
