Join to apply for the Patient Care Associate-PCA (Non-Exempt) role at Mercy.

Overview:
Under the direction of the RN or LPN, assists in the individualized care of the patient to achieve the patient’s highest level of wellness.

Position: Patient Care Associate

Department: Surgical Observation

Hours / Shift: Nights/ 7pm-7am

Job Duties

• Obtain vital signs and document into the electronic medical records system
• Assist with patient care needs including meals, bathing, toileting, ambulation, mobility, and transport
• Perform clerical support duties, as needed

Training

• Our accredited Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program offers comprehensive, hands-on training. Join Mercy to gain valuable skills and credentials in a supportive healthcare environment.
• If no previous experience, Mercy provides a 175-hour training program meeting Department of Health and Senior Services requirements. This is part of the new hire orientation and must be completed within 90 days of hire.
• BLS certification required within one month of hire; PCA competencies to be completed within 3 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, G.E.D, CNA/CPTC, or enrolled in a healthcare career program; or a current Mercy employee.
• Experience: None required
• Physical requirements include the ability to push, pull, and lift 50 pounds, stand and walk for prolonged periods, and perform physical movements like reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting.
• Preferred Certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
