Overview:

Under the direction of the RN or LPN, assists in the individualized care of patients to achieve their highest level of wellness. Works cooperatively with others as part of a team; recognizes the importance of group goals. Performs designated clinical procedures and support tasks essential to patient care.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma, G.E.D, CNA/CPTC, or enrolled in a healthcare career program through high school; or a current Mercy co-worker.
• Licensure: None required.
• Experience: None required. Mercy provides a 175-hour training program meeting state Department of Health and Senior Services requirements, completed within 90 days of hire.
• Certifications: BLS required within one month of hire; completion of PCA competencies within 3 months.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to push, pull, and lift 50 pounds; prolonged standing and walking; ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat.
