Job summary

Heritage Valley Health System in Sewickley, PA is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join the 5 Central Med/Surg team for full‑time night shifts.

You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Professional Nurse, assist with daily living activities, monitor vitals, and ensure patient safety. A $3,000 sign-on/retention bonus is offered, with the opportunity for growth and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent. Excellent bedside manner, customer service, and computer skills.
• Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in HR policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Department: 5 Central Med/Surg

Work Hours: Full-Time Nights, 8 & 12 hour shifts, every other weekend, holidays as required.

Provides direct patient care appropriate to age, culture, and developmental needs under the direction of the Professional Nurse. Works closely with patients to provide physical assistance with daily living tasks, such as dressing, bathing, feeding, toileting, vital signs, catheter care, answering call lights, assisting with ambulation, turning, and ensuring patient safety. Technical skills may include obtaining 12 lead EKG, setting up respiratory equipment, glucometer monitoring, bladder catheterization and transcribing orders, when indicated.

Qualifications

Required: High school graduate or equivalent. Excellent bedside manner and customer service & computer skills.

Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Preferred

Successful completion of a nursing assistant program (with proof of completion)

Nursing student after successful completion of their first quarter/semester of nursing school

Previous nursing assistant experience, CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant)
