Job summary

Heritage Valley Health System has an opening in the Observation Unit for a full-time role with night shifts (12- and 8-hour shifts) and weekends/holidays as required. The position involves providing direct patient care under the supervision of a professional nurse, assisting with activities of daily living, and performing technical tasks such as EKGs and basic catheter care.

A $3,000 sign-on/retention bonus may be eligible.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Excellent bedside manner and customer service & computer skills.
• Successful completion of applicable clearances within 90 days of commencing employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care appropriate to age, culture, and developmental needs under the direction of the Professional Nurse.
• Assist with daily living tasks and ensure patient safety.
• Obtain 12 lead EKG, set up respiratory equipment, glucometer monitoring, bladder catheterization and transcribing orders when indicated.
