AHN seeks a Patient Care Associate in the Emergency Department for full-time coverage with daylight, evening hours, and rotating weekends/holidays. The role involves direct patient care, assistance with daily living activities, and performing clinical tasks under supervision.
Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a nursing assistant program (or nursing student after first quarter), BCLS, and completion of required clearances within 90 days.
Totaling $3,000 for Full-Time Patient Care Associates.
Emergency
40 hours per week daylight or evening hours, alternating weekend and holidays.
Provides direct patient care appropriate to age, culture, and developmental needs under the direction of the Professional Nurse. Works closely with patients to provide physical assistance with daily living tasks, such as dressing, bathing, feeding, toileting, vital signs, catheter care, answering call lights, assisting with ambulation, turning, and ensuring patient safety. Technical skills may include obtaining 12‑lead EKG, setting up respiratory equipment, multiple point‑of‑care test(s) monitoring, bladder catheterization, venipuncture, and transcribing orders.
High school graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of a nursing assistant program (proof of completion required) or a nursing student after successful completion of their first quarter/semester of nursing school or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Excellent bedside manner and customer service skills. BCLS.
Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.
