Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health seeks a Patient Care Associate/Technician to assist patients with daily living activities and deliver basic care in the Emergency Room setting. The role includes preparing patients, monitoring conditions, and supporting nursing staff on-site.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, BLS certification within 6 months, and PCA/PCT credentials or nursing school enrollment. Per diem options may apply, with competitive health benefits for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• PCA/PCT diploma with 6 months to 1 year of experience in healthcare within last 6 months.
• Enrolled in accredited nursing program or completed Nursing Fundamentals level 1 coursework in lieu of diploma/certification.
• Evidence of Nursing Fundamentals coursework or Nursing Assistant training completion.
• PCA/PCT, Home Health Aide or CMA experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide basic care to acutely ill patients.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Perform EKGs and Venipuncture as directed by the Registered Nurse.
