Job summary

St. Joseph's Health in Paterson, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Assistant/Technician to assist patients with daily living activities and provide basic care to acutely ill patients.

The role includes performing EKGs and venipuncture as directed by the Registered Nurse, while maintaining a safe and clean environment. Candidates may hold a CNA certification or PCA/PCT diploma with healthcare experience, and BLS is required within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• PCA/PCT diploma with 6 months to 1 year of healthcare experience within last 6 months OR CNA certification OR related PCA/PCT training with NHCA certification.
• EMT certification or enrollment in accredited nursing program with Nursing Fundamentals coursework in lieu of diploma/certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide basic care to acutely ill patients.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, clean environment.
• Perform EKGs and venipuncture as directed by RN.
