Job summary

St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Associate for the Evening shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM) in the float pool.

This on-site role supports acutely ill patients with activities of daily living, basic care, and a safe, clean environment, performing EKGs and venipuncture as directed by a Registered Nurse. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS certification within 6 months, and relevant PCA/PCT or CNA credentials, with ongoing nursing education

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support certification within 6 months of hire.
• PCA/PCT diploma with 6 months to 1 year healthcare experience OR CNA certification.
• PCA/PCT diploma with NHCA certification OR enrollment in nursing program with Fundamentals coursework.
• Evidence of completion in Nursing Fundamentals coursework or Nursing Assistant training.
• PCA/PCT, Home Health Aide or CMA experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide basic care to acutely ill patients.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
• Perform EKGs and venipuncture as directed by the Registered Nurse.
