Job summary

St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center in Wayne, NJ is seeking a Part-Time Patient Care Associate for the 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM shift in Med/Surg. The role provides support to acutely ill patients, helping with daily living activities and maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Responsibilities include performing EKGs and venipuncture under the direction of a Registered Nurse. BLS certification is required within 6 months of hire, with CNA or PCA/PCT credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• PCA/PCT diploma with 6 months to 1 year of healthcare experience OR CNA certification OR PCA/PCT diploma with NHCA certification.
• Enrolled in a nursing school program with Nursing Fundamentals coursework in lieu of diploma/certification OR
• Evidence of completion in Nursing Fundamentals coursework OR Nursing Assistant training program completion.
• PCA/PCT, Home Health Aide or CMA experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and basic care.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and perform assigned tasks as directed by the RN.
