Job summary

St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Associate for the Med/Surg floor in Wayne, NJ.

This part-time night shift (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM) supports patients with daily living activities, delivers basic care, and helps maintain a safe, clean environment on a busy unit. The role requires High School diploma or equivalent, BLS within 6 months, and either a PCA/PCT diploma or CNA certification, with relevant healthcare experience or nursing school coursework.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• PCA/PCT diploma with 6 months to 1 year of healthcare experience OR CNA certification OR PCA/PCT diploma with NHCA certification.
• Enrolled in nursing school with Nursing Fundamentals coursework or completion evidence.
• PCA/PCT, Home Health Aide or CMA experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide basic care to acutely ill patients.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Perform EKGs and Venipuncture as directed by the RN.
