Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health in Paterson, NJ is seeking a Part-Time Patient Care Associate for Med/Surg/General Surgery, on-site during daytime hours.

The role includes assisting patients with daily living, maintaining a safe environment, and performing EKGs and venipuncture under RN supervision. Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent, BLS within 6 months of hire, CNA or PCA/PCT credentials, and enrollment or completion of nursing fundamentals coursework.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Basic Life Support certification within 6 months of hire
• PCA/PCT diploma with 6 months to 1 year of healthcare experience within the last 6 months
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or PCA/PCT credentials
• Enrolled in an accredited nursing program with Nursing Fundamentals coursework
• Evidence of Nursing Fundamentals coursework or Nursing Assistant training
• PCA/PCT, Home Health Aide or CMA experience

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living
• Provide basic care to acutely ill patients
• Maintain a safe and clean environment
• Perform EKGs and Venipuncture as directed by the Registered Nurse
